Our team of licensed physical therapists assist our residents and their wide range of physical therapy needs. A physical therapist helps in the rehabilitation of functions like mobility, range of motion, and quality of life.
At QHC, our physical therapists specialize in the physical therapy and rehabilitation of elders. This physical therapy focuses on the unique needs of our elder residents which can include arthritis therapy, osteoporosis care, illness recovery therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, joint replacement therapy, balance disorders, and much more.
We understand that elder physical therapy poses unique challenges, and our trained physical therapists are experts in utilizing the power of physical therapy to improve the quality of life of your loved one.
Physical therapy has been known to produce incredible results and improvements for many things ranging from Alzheimer’s to incontinence. At our nursing homes, we recognize that no two residents are the same. That is why our physical therapists work with each of their patients to develop a unique plan of care that will benefit your loved one and help to improve his or her quality of life.
Physical therapy activities can include walking, stretching, range of motion exercises, stepping, using an exercise bike, sitting, standing, lifting weights, water aerobics, massage, and mobilization. Each of these physical therapy activities is tailored to the skill level and ability of your loved one. Careful monitoring takes place to monitor the progress and growth of your loved one.
Another big part of physical therapy is education. We believe it is important to educate your loved ones about what activities may or may not be safe for them and how their plan of care is designed to improve their quality of life. We want each resident to be able to take responsibility for his or her care if he or she so chooses.
